Keyword density is the percentage of times a keyword or phrase appears on a web page compared to the total number of words on the page.
To calculate keyword density in its simplest form, you divide the number of times that you have used a specific keyword by the total number of words in the text that you are analyzing and multiply the result by one hundred to achieve your percentage.

Keyword density is defined as the number of times the keyword repeats throughout the article. It is expressed as a percentage to the total number of words in the article.

Formula for “Keyword Density” = (Number of times the keyword repeats in the article / Total number of words in the article)*100

It is the percentage how many times you used the particular keyword in the content.
Formula: (Number of Keywords/Total Number of Words)*100

In search engine optimization (SEO) keyword density is the measurement in percentage of the number of times a particular keyword or phrase appears compared to the total number of words in a page.
How its Calculated?
To calculate keyword density in its simplest form, you divide the number of times that you have used a specific keyword by the total number of words in the text that you are analyzing and multiply the result by one hundred to achieve your percentage.

Therefore:

Keyword Density = (Nkr / Tkn) x 100

Where:

Density = your keyword density
Nkr = how many times you repeated a specific keyword
Tkn = total words in the analyzed text

So, if your article or piece of content (the text you are analyzing) is 500 words in length and you have used your keyword 15 times, the keyword density for that keyword is…

Keyword density = (Nkr / Tkn) x 100
= (15 / 500) x 100
= 0.03 x 100
=3

Keyword density = 3% !!!

Keyword density is the percentage of times a keyword or word appears on a web page in comparison to the whole wide variety of words at the page. In the context of SEO, keyword density can be used to determine whether a web page is applicable to a precise key-word or keyword phrase.
