Hi there,

Just ran an audit and Website Auditor is picking up what looks to be duplicate URL's...they are being shown as Dynamic URL's....(WordPress website)

For example - https://www.example(com)/?p=217

And there are 301 Redirects for each /?p=3 etc to each of the actual pages ...
https://www.example(com)/?p=217 >>>> https://www.example(com)/example/

I never used the page numbers to name pages or implemented the 301 Redirects...

Any ideas on why this happened?
Regards
Greg

These URLs may be generated and redirected automatically by Wordpress, but if the 301 redirects are properly set to the pages with user-friendly URLs - there should be no issue.

These URLs must have been found and collected by the program as they are still present in the code of some other pages. You can select any URL and find it with the Quick Search field under 'Site Structue=>All Resources', select it and check the bottom tab - there you can check all the pages the URL has been found on.

I noticed the same thing and read it was the rel=shortlink WordPress auto adds to header. Something like the WP 4.5 update did it. If you view source on page and search for shortlink you'll see it there.

Read a few articles and said removing was fine. I put code in functions.php file. Don't know if it will show here but code I used was: remove_action('wp_head', 'wp_shortlink_wp_head', 10, 0); and it removed them in view source. However, rebuilt project but Website Auditor still showing them. Closed Website Auditor and they're still showing

or you can Google remove rel=shortlink and find it.

Also, if you're running feed, search permalink in view source. Found dynamic url there too.
