So I used the installation instructions titled "How to install SEO PowerSuite on Ubuntu" where it shows you how to install Oracle Java and set your default Java version. However, when I tried to install SEO Powersuite I got this message in the terminal window:
Code:
21:21:18 [main] ERROR com.agilemind.commons.util.errorproof.UnexpectedExceptionHandlerFactory - java.awt.AWTError: Can't connect to X11 window server using ':0' as the value of the DISPLAY variable. at sun.awt.X11GraphicsEnvironment.initDisplay(Native Method) ~[?:1.8.0_161] at sun.awt.X11GraphicsEnvironment.access$200(X11GraphicsEnvironment.java:65) ~[?:1.8.0_161] at sun.awt.X11GraphicsEnvironment$1.run(X11GraphicsEnvironment.java:115) ~[?:1.8.0_161] at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) ~[?:1.8.0_161] at sun.awt.X11GraphicsEnvironment.<clinit>(X11GraphicsEnvironment.java:74) ~[?:1.8.0_161] at java.lang.Class.forName0(Native Method) ~[?:1.8.0_161]...etc, etc, ad nauseum..
If anyone else trying to install on Ubuntu receives this error one small command in the terminal will fix it:
Code:
xhost +
After you install then, for security reasons , do this in the terminal to close the port to X11:
Code:
xhost -
Done. Your installed.

This appears to be some common Java-related issue on Ubuntu. Try suggestions from these forum threads:
