Hi,

Some questions about SG (Spy Glass) usage:

Why does SG show information for web pages that don't link back?

Is there a way to see a report for total new links + total links that dropped (dropped = links that were alive in the previous check and in the new check are gone)?

What does "new" and "removed" stand for? if removed - then why does the link details show that it does link back?

Why does SG show details for a webpage that does not link back AND show "New" in th elink status?

Please help

Thanks

Yaniv

The backlinks in your project may have several different statuses: New (link has been found in backlink sources for the first time), Removed (link was found in the Indexes previously, but not during the last update), Remains (link found in the Indexes previously and during the last update)

Initially all the backlinks are fecthed from indexes, and sometimes the data from Indexes may be a bit outdated as it takes up to several months for the Crawlers to browse the Web and update the data in full. So some of the backlinks found in Indexes and adeed to your project might have been removed already. But there`s a way to check the real-time status of the backlinks - you should simply click the Update Factors button and select Page Info factor to check.

You should use Tags for that, once you create a project - you can mark all the collected backlinks with a Tag 'Initial' for example. Then, once you rebuild the project or add new backlinks manually - you can assign a new Tag to them, same with the backlinks that don`t link back anymore. You can add a Tags column to your Workspace. In the Report settings you can choose to include only the records with any specific Tags.
