I have a client with SEO Powersuite link exchange pages that are showing up in Webmaster tools flagged with these issues:

- Duplicate Meta Descriptions
- Short Meta Descriptions
- Duplicate Title Tags

Here are the pages in question which were set up in 2012:

http://www.latisse.md/links/link-6.html
http://www.latisse.md/links/link-9.html

First, we would like to locate the admin for these pages so we can address the GWT issues, the client doesn't remember how to update these pages. Does anyone know how to administer these type of pages?

Next, we would appreciate advice on the viability of link exchanges as a best practice in today's SEO ecosystem.

My inclination is that they are no longer effective and are likely a liability. Google calls out excessive link exchanges as manipulative here:
https://support.google.com/webmasters/a ... 6356?hl=en

Excessive link exchanges ("Link to me and I'll link to you") or partner pages exclusively for the sake of cross-linking.

With over 10 pages of exchange links, I worry this could be considered excessive.

Are there best practices for winding down these pages and disavowing links?

Thank you.

I am too much confused about your issue. It is better then you post your problem searchenginland and other high ranking SEO forum. Because the idea is not bad, another easy way you have submitted your post our link assistant admirer.

These pages were created and submitted with the LinkAssistant tool, so they can be managed from that LinkAssistant project where they were created. However, if you no longer have this project at hand, you may simple delete these pages from your FTP server, because the software saved them as HTML files on you FTP. Once you delete them, you can create new pages with a new LinkAssistant project if you wish.
