Just a quick note...
Quote:
2) Second, make sure that the major search engines know about your site. As of this writing, Google is by far the most important. You can add your site to Google using their Add URL page.
It is really better to get a link pointing to your website to make your new website get crawled by Google spider. If your goal is to get indexed, then if you manage to get a link from a good page, then your website may get indexed much faster than by using the "Add URL" page.

Agreed. You should avoid using the add URL page for Google. In fact, in some cases, this can hurt your rankings.

You'll also want to take advantage of having an xml sitemap as well as signing up for Google's Webmaster Tools.

Agreed WebAdvantage, you should add a sitemap and get your website into a Webmaster Central Account.

Also I agree with Linky, about getting a link to your site rather than using the "Add Link" option.

For getting the recognition by the Google you have to add suitable keywords to the web pages. These in turn will generate links to your website. This adds visibility to your website and draw sufficient traffic to it. You can start with the directory submission to place your Website name in front of the visitors around the globe. And if you want to have more queries regarding this you can visit iWIinfotech.com. They will guide you in the right direction to make your website Search Engine friendly

Also adding site map will help you and google to index pages that you want or you can hide pages by using disallow: /directory/ at robots.txt file

One of the fastest ways to promote a totally fresh web project is to write a press release and submit it to as many press release sites as you can find. For sure there has to be a link to your domain in each press release. Don't care about nofollow here. ;)

Hi Coguar,

press release sites I know, want "news character informations". In your case you might write about the grand opening of your online shop. Why has you/your company decided to launch an online shop for shoes. How many brands and models will you have in stock and what makes your shop more interesting for customers than other shops?

Press Releases are not totally the same as article directories.
