There are few free as well as paid tools available online. It completely depends upon your requirements, what kind of website audit you need to do. If a basic website audit then free tools will give me enough information and if you are looking to deep dive into the website issues then go for paid tools like SEMrush, Ahrefs, etc.

Website can be audit by the following ways

1. Check all kind of meta tags available on page
2. Check analytics tools are linked
3. check webmaster are linked
4. Sitemaps are indexed
5. Robots.txt are installed
6. Check 404, 503 like error page are mapped
7. Bread scrum is available
8. check url
9. Then go with online tools like pingdom, site grader for site speed, load time etc
