Hi again guys.

I'm experiencing some major problems with Yahoo API at the moment. We use RankTracker to monitor the rankings for over 30 clients. We schedule the RT files to run 10 minutes apart on their own custom API generated for them on the 1st of the month for reporting starting from 12:01am.

The RT files contain <150 keywords each and my understanding is that the API key lets you run 1000 searches per API key.

The problem I am encountering is that Yahoo (.co.uk) gets banned far too easily and impacts on the other RT files. I have tried with and without Human Emulation and this just does not seem to stop it :(

Is there a specific way to setup the Yahoo API key in https://developer.apps.yahoo.com/wsregapp/ (i.e. should I not call it <clientname> RankTracker or use the same Email address etc etc).

Just wondered if anyone else encounters this problem or has any suggestions on how best to set up your API key?

Generally, this is what you can enter:

*Authentication method: Generic, No user authentication required
*Developer/Company Name: YOUR COMPANY NAME
*Product name: SEO PowerSuite
Web Application URL: - this is an optional field, so just leave it empty -
*Contact email: YOUR CONTACT EMAIL
Phone number: - this is an optional field, so just leave it empty -
*Description of application: SEO PowerSuite
*Required access scopes (if enabled): Single Sign On, No user data can be accessed (this is the only option you need)

I can't seem to check rankings with Yahoo, whether I've got Human Emulation, Proxy Rotation, or Yahoo API Keys enabled. This is really frustrating, is there a better way to avoid the Yahoo Ban??

Many people are facing problems when using the Yahoo API. When using a software called Ranktracker to rank the 30 clients. The problem is that the Yahoo site alone gets blocked. This affects the other RT files in the list. The authentication method to be used is generic. The product name should be SEO Power suite. The web application URL field should be left empty. The phone number field should be left empty. These changes should rectify this error.
