Why does the report in SEO Spyglass say to submit our site to hundreds of directories, basically mini human reviewed search engines, then in the next breathe say this on the forum when someone asked if the software did search engine submissions:
"No, it doesn't. There's no need for such functionality any longer. Please check out this post for more info about search engine submissions."
Are you saying that part of the report is useless? If not, why not include a function to do that electronically? That would save hundreds of hours in some case.
Search engine submission and directory submission are two different things. While directory submission still brings you links helps your rankings, especially if you submit to high-quality and/or topically relevant directories, search engine submission is useless and is nothing but a technique from the past. I still suggest you read this thoroughly:
I too don't prefer automated submission to search engines. As far as directories are concerned, the case is different. Our site gets back links from it and their links counts for ranking. Search engines sometimes take data from these directories too.
