As we already mentioned,
Yahoo! has changed its algo, and
has become stricter, regarding
automated search: now Yahoo! can interrupt your search more often than before. We apologize that some of you had a problem with Yahoo! results and offer a working solution.
We adjusted our software to all Yahoo! algo changes. However, since the last Yahoo! update, it is recommended, and for some users even necessary to
use a Yahoo! API key in any of these applications:
LinkAssistant,
SEO SpyGlass and
Rank Tracker.
One Yahoo! API key allows you 5,000 queries daily, and you can get as many Yahoo! API keys as you wish. They are free to get, so please take a couple of minutes to follow our instructions and start using Yahoo! API keys for quick and safe search:
1) Please follow this link:

2) On the page that opens, you can
login if you have a Yahoo account, or
create a new account.
3) Where you have to select a radiobutton for
"Authentication method", select
"Generic, No user authentication required" and proceed futher - you'll manage to get your API key.
4) After this, fill out the required fields and click to continue.
5) On the next screen, you will see an application ID, which is your Yahoo API key – the one you need to use with your SEO tool to ensure safe queries.
Now to enter this Yahoo! API key, run your software and go to
Preferences -> Search Engine API Keys...; Or in LinkAssistant, use
Preferences -> Search Engines Settings...;
You must know that we also have other search safety settings in SEO SpyGlass and Rank Tracker: Human Emulation (can be set in
Preferences -> Search Safety Settings -> Human Emulation) and random User Agents (you can set these in
Preferences -> Search Safety Settings -> User Agents).
We recommend using any of these settings in the software. However
for searches in Yahoo!, their API key is preferable. This is the most reliable way to stay safe when running a search with your SEO tools.
We are also working to add more possibilities and to make your search even faster and safer. But for the time being, we encourage using a Yahoo! API keys as the most reliable solution of "automated search" problem.
