Hello,

when SEO spyglass checks this URL for backlinks: http://frieswithmyketchup.com/ it consumes 100% of CPU and freezes. The page has huge amount of (hidden) links, so I guess that's the reason.
Could you fix this bug as such pages with so many links are quite common in big projects? (This has happened to before with other URLs)

Could you add a maximum limit for links analysis? Let's say count just first 10.000 links and then stop.

Yes, same problem here. The site I'm trying to scan has aprox. 3,000 pages. Freezes up about half way through, tried it a couple of times.

You can limit the number of links to find when you start a project. Please click "Enable expert options" when you start a project and you'll be able to limit the number of links to find on the next step.

Another thing is that software might crash not while it gathers backlinks, but while it updates ranking factors for a large amount of links, due to unresponsiveness of some external services. So once you gather all of your backlinks, do not click "Yes" on the next dialog box ("would you like to update ranking factors..."). Instead, select, say, 1000 backlinks in the table, click "Update" and update only the ranking factors you're interested in, that would go easier on your computer's memory.

I want to find as much backlinks as possible. What I meant, was that when the page which contains the backlink contains also huge number(thousands) of links to other sites, the program crashes when it reads and analyzes the page.
So I was talking about scanning limit on every particular page. If the page contains let's say 50.000 links, lets search just through the first 10.000 or so to find if it links back to our site.

I gave you two example urls:

If you load them in your browser and take a look at the source code you'll see that there are 10000s of links. And if you enter these 2 URLs into SEO spy glass and try to analyze them the program would probably freeze and you'll see what I'm talking about.

This just got a lot worse with the new update that has the link DB. I used to be able to do 2,500 pages at a time, now it can barely do 1,000. A royal pain. This needs to be fixed!

Thought it was just me. Made a new post recently regarding this issue. Since upgrading to 4.8.1 I cannot do more than 500 links (prior to I was doing 1500). How do I downgrade to the older version?

yah agree my hang as well .... and there alot redundant back link analysis.
