After the update to version 6.0 my laptop fan is constantly blowing like hell when I start rank tracker and open a project, even without doing anything.

sysinternals Process Explorer shows a not acceptable cpu power consumption in stand-by mode

It needs almost 40 % of my cpu while the software is just opened but not used (no running tasks)

I'm seeing the same thing here.
I also notice that the cpu is at 50% when on the Keywords tab, and 0% on the Report tab.

I'm having the same problem.

It was never a problem in the past. As soon as I booted up the new version yesterday, my laptop sounded like it wanted to launch into orbit.

I booted up SpyGlass just to see if it does the same thing, but it doesn't. It is just RankTracker.

yep only rank tracker, with a single core cpu you'd be lost, it takes 100% on one core

Guys, thanks for reporting this and sorry for the issue. This is a bug we're aware of and it's in the works already. The next auto-update will contain the fix.

CPU consuption has always been somewhat high, but after rank tracker updated to super brand new 6.0, the cpu load is never under 95%.
First I thought the problem was in either my Ubuntu or Java and I spent hours reading forums trying to figure out what's wrong, but now I see that other users have the same issue on Windows OS.

I would prefer a working rank tracker with old interface rather than a
"new shiny" 6.0 that turns my laptop into a noisy jet plane. Hope the bug will be fixed soon.
