Hi there,

As you probably know, new Rank Tracker 5.0 is launched in beta today.

Here’s where you can post your bug reports if there are any flaws you find in the tool (because beta’s still a beta, and something may go a bit not the way we’ve expected).

Just to remind you: the new Rank Tracker 5.0 lets you check and compare rankings for several websites within one project. The version is not included into your auto-updates yet: this is where you can learn more about it and get a download link.

Hope you'll love the new tool! Looking forward for your feedback.

Cheers,
LA

P.S. Please do not post support questions here. For support, please go to this page.

query? I bought RT about a month ago...and don't quite understand here...

do I get to say yes or no, when it comes to installing the new RT5? or will it automatically be installed by you when the app first runs via the update functionality?

is there a cost for the RT5 version? ie if it's free that's one thing but if it costs $ then I'd not like to see it automatically installed in the app....

lastly, support for same? how will that be provided?

?

Jim

Hi LA,

first of all congrats to the update!
I like the competitors feature a lot, as well as the new scrolling on date and ranking position axis for the keywords.

As I said I tried and like the option to add competitors a lot. The only thing that does not work out for me very well is that for the same keyword for each competitor there seems to be one query. E.g. it looks like, if for keyword "chess" the site and competitors were on #3, #4, #6 and #9, Rank Tracker would google chess four times, although they are all on the same page.

To me this makes this awesome feature less usable, as I can't update the projects as frequently because it takes about 6 times as long.

As I said, great stuff, unfortunately for me not working smoothly.
Cheers

Yes, that's how it is for now. We're changing that as fast as we can and when the new Rank Tracker comes out of beta this will definitely be fixed, sorry for the inconvenience.

It's absolutely free just like any other functionality update or a new version. However, it does not come as an auto-update as it's still in beta, so it can be downloaded here: http://www.link-assistant.com/news/comp ... -beta.html

You can disable the competition feature in Rank Tracker any time, so you are not risking anything pretty much.

The problem is... we got too used to the lightning fast ranking reports we could get with 4.x! I check only Google USA, and use the API key. With three competitors added, 5.0b takes about 45 minutes to check positions for ~1,000 keywords. Which is roughly 3x longer than for my site only.

It would be incredible if you could manage to find a way to speed this up.

Thanks,
Ed

PS - I just wanted to let you know that Rank Tracker is one of the best software packages I have ever used. You guys did a remarkable job.

I really liked seeing the progress graph and the ranking data (difference etc.) in one view at the bottom of Rank Tracker.

Apparently in Rank Tracker 5 I can only have either progress graph or ranking data displayed at the bottom.

Is there any possibility to change this back or make it customizable?

Does the free version has all the functionality of the paid one? Except that it can only have 1 competitor.

Btw, I'm downloading it now and trying the Beta.

Edit:
I see now, you won't be able to save the data with the free version. I guess I have to get the paid one to track the ranking properly on a day-to-day basis.
