I have several projects that I manage in Rank Tracker. Most of them are under 5,000 keywords, but one is over 24,000. If I try to check the rankings of all 24,000 keywords, RT freezes up at the 9-10,000 mark. My solution to this is to have RT check 5,000 keywords, save the project, close and reopen RT, then check the next 5,000, etc.

I'm wondering if there is a way to permanently fix this, I would love to schedule the project at 3am and have the rankings ready for me when I get to work. Please let me know if I have any options.

You know these numbers sound really big... I am not sure if you will be able to check so many keywords at once, maybe later on when we restructure the whole software architecture (and that is on our to-do list).

It seems that major issues were fixed with app speed - especially with large lists of keywords - and scheduled rank checking. Thanks for the most recent update (4.10)!

Ok, thanks for the response, I appreciate it. I also have another question regarding my largest keyword list. This problem started recently, within the last 3-4 weeks.

When running through the 24,000+ keyword list (now 28k :) ), I check them in 5-6,000 keyword blocks. Once RT has checked around 13,000 keywords, the internet connection suddenly fails and RT refuses to check any additional keywords. If I try to restart the rank check, I get an error message:

"Sorry, application cannot connect to the Internet. Please check your proxy, firewall or antiviral software settings."


My internet connection works fine. This is not Google requiring a capcha, I am not getting a temporary Google ban. Using proxy rotation does not resume the connection, although RT is able to successfully check the proxy list to see if the proxy is working.

I checked with my IT department and they are confident it is not our anti virus software. I am also not using a personal firewall or internet proxy. Do you know what's going on here and is there any way to fix the connection problem?

This is totally weird... Does re-starting rank tracker and checking the next portion help?

Could you please perform Help -> Send project to support next time this happens?

Could you please describe what exactly you are doing and what is the Rank Tracker's role in that in detail? Do you mean a PPC advertisement campaign management?

No, restarting RT or even my whole computer does not fix the internet connection problem. The internet connection seems to go down for 3-5 hours before it is restored. To clarify, only RT has a connection problem, I can still open Firefox and do a Google search without any problems.

Unfortunately, I can't send the report to you, it contains a massive amount of proprietary data that I can't share. I really wish I could because I would like to get this fixed, but I can't send you the whole file.... would it be possible to dissect the file and trim the majority of the keywords, only keeping the diagnostic data?

What you can do is send us the exception log right after the problem arises:
