Hello. I am new to SEO Powersuite Enterprise and have some questions. I have watched the tutorial video for Website Auditor and see that it is telling me to use my keyword less times in the meta keywords, but it is only used one time. Moving it to the end does not help. The only work around is to add more words to the group, however then I am dinged with too many words. I see this for each and every keyphrase I have. Please advise and thanks much.

Keyword Density: the keyword density in meta keywords tag for the keyword "Search Engine Optimization" is 13.6%.
This keyword density is too big. Please use your keyword "shopping cart software" less often to decrease keyword density close to 8.1%.

In this case you should neglect the score and keep your keyword there. It might happen if your competitors (at least 6 out of 10) are not really optimized for this specific keyword and rank high due to immense amount of backlinks. So you should look through the competitors' page elements and do not exceed the rates of the most optimized one - you won't be spamming.

I got a similar problem, how should I act on this?

Words Total: 4 words are used in H1 heading texts.
This fits optimization requirements.

Keyword Density: the keyword density in H1 heading texts for the keyword "gaver" is 25%.
This keyword density is too big. Please use your keyword "gaver" less often to decrease keyword density close to 4.5%.

Using Keyword: the number of H1 heading texts that use the keyword "gaver" is 1.
This fits optimization requirements.

Meta keywords are meaningless so do not waste your time on them. If you are unsure or skeptical, see what Google has to say about meta keywords on their blog.

In this case you should ignore the density issue, because it is based on the the average calculations but clearly there is a discrepancy here. Could you please tell us the URL/keyword/search engine you started your project for?

On the topic of keyword density...

I would imagine that the Google people hand-picked a number of sample "ideal" pages and ran the keyword counter on them to determine the "sweet spot" for keyword density. If your page's density was too much higher or lower than this sweet spot, it would get little or no advantage. If Google did things this way, I have to imagine that keyword density would be a non-trivial method of determining a page's rank. Pure speculation on my part, though.

Hi, I just purchased Website Auditor (WA) yesterday, and immediately came up against the same problem mentioned by DNSQuest. As suggested by Link Assistant, I can neglect the score and keep the keyword there, and that's fine for now.

However, I'm wondering if you're going to fix this problem in a future update.

For a paid software w/subscription plan, I would expect this sort of faulty logic to be fixed so it would give accurate data in all areas. Please let me know if a fix is in the works...

Jesse

Yes indeed Jesse, you totally have the point. The "minimal keyword density/prominence" feature is in the works at the moment. There have been some technical issues, however, and we had to change more than we expected in the software. A new major release of WebSite Auditor is coming soon and among other features it will have what you need implemented. Thanks for your patience and understanding! 8)

O.K., I'm glad to hear you are working to solve this problem. IMO, The overall concept of the Website Auditor is a very good one, and immensely helpful for those of us who still think it's important to have on-page factors tightened up.

I love the step-by-step optimization report that practically leads you by the hand to do what is necessary to optimize the on-page content. But the KW density/prominence inaccuracy is a significant glitch that really detracts from what is otherwise a terrific tool.

I am eagerly looking forward to Link Assistant fixing this problem so I can continue with accurate on-page analysis and optimization of my 30+ websites.

In my experience with LA, I'm sure it will be done post haste. :)

I purchased an Enterprise License a week back and when I tried website auditor first, it was throwing the same error mentioned above. Today I received your new update and in the update details it was mentioned that keyword density/prominence issue is solved now.

Still this is what I see when I tried to run this tool with a website :

Keyword Density: the keyword density in body text for the keyword "make money online blogging" is 0.8%.
This keyword density is too big. Please use your keyword "make money online blogging" less often to decrease keyword density close to 0%.

How am I supposed to send this report to my client???

I would love to hear about this.

Tom
