Hi There just wondering what search operator the software uses for determining "competing pages" and is there any way to alter it ?

for example:

allintitle:
allinurl:
allinanchor:

etc, etc, etc

Thanks,

And I am finding the thread on search volume issues very interesting,

I have set my projects up to:

Search: Google.com (USA)
Lang: English
Phrase: Exact

KEI (Google)

Are there any better ways to end up with data that is actually of some value and is accurate ?

We are going to add these parameters to Rank Tracker's keyword research function in the future, thanks for your input. They are already on our to-do list.

Yes, I'm finding the competition numbers pretty misleading. Having intitle/allintitle would be much better. If some one doesn't have a keyword/phrase in their title tag they can't really be classed as competition.

Would you aggree?

I'm not really bothered if someone has the keyword in the url or in anchor text but maybe having some tickboxes in the preferences so that individuals can decide what counts as competition would be good.

Thanks,
Jon
