There are numerous improvements I am sure I could mention but these two should be easy to fix and quite frankly should have been availalbe a long time ago...
1. Yahoo backlinks - It doesn't pull them properly. if you go to here https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/s ... mo=&bwmf=s you will see ALL backlinks to my domain. If you go here https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/s ... mo=&bwmf=u you see links to to the ROOT of my domain only and no inner pages. As you can see there are a lot less. When Spyglass does the check it must send the second URL I listed because it brings back the same results as it. Considering Yahoo is the primary source of backlinks I think this is pretty critical to be fixed...I want to see ALL backlinks to my domain.

2. Give me the feature to add a back link manually. It is a joke that Spyglass has been going this long without this feature. Sure when I create a new project i can THEN do it and I can even import backlinks using CSVs but nowhere does it allow to add a BL afterwards in an existing project. Sometimes I find a link myself but it hasn't been updated in any of the search engines yet. in this case I want to add it myself. It is such a simple but important feature that is lacking...

EDIT: to add to this. when fixing point one why don't you give us a tick box so WE CAN CHOOSE whther to get all bls for the URL only or the entire domain? As you can see from the URL's I listed, you just need to change the last letter in the URL from S to U for each type of query

Well, I got the same amount in SEO SpyGlass and YSE, as SEO SpyGlass pulls out the "entire domain" part of the backlinks:

Do you have any other search engines in your projects? Maybe some backlinks have been found via other SEs so they are not listed as "Yahoo" ones.

As for adding backlinks — yes, that's on our to-do list. The feature should be ready in about a month and a half.

What your printscreen shows is how many backlinks are in yahoo site explorer (which I never disputed). Post me another printscreen of Spyglass showing all those 92 backlinks where everyone of them is from yahoo....that is what the problem is. Don't use other search engines, just yahoo.

Here is a pic of me just starting a new project on my domain and it only found 22 back links in yahoo.

Here is yahoo site explorer

Notice that in yahoo I have purposely left it to show links to this URL only and not the entire domai. Even this doesn't match with spyglass as there are 36 here.

And here is the second showing all URLS to the domain...A big difference.

A month and a half?? really, are you serious? I am not a programmer but I have done some in the past and I know how simple this is to implement. At a guess I would say this is a 5 minute job, an hour max. Also considering the feature IS ALREADY there but can only be accessed when creating a new project it should take even less time. I don't know what you need to do but surely you just have to add some code to allow this feature (that is already there) to be accessible in an exisitng project??

I have no doubt you have lots of other improvements to add and bugs to fix on your "to do" list but I consider this quite a critical feature of Sypglass. A blacklink program that doesn't allow you to add backlinks, hmmm?!?!

I have to say that the SEO Powersuite is a great SEO pack, it is rich in stats but all programs are riddled with bugs and are missing fundemental features. When i tried them using the free versions I thought these problems I encountered where down to it being free. I would also say that the support in these forums is great. But you really need to fix some these issues with more urgency.

There are fundemental features missing from all the SEO powersute collection. I don't want to rant on but I will just give one example from each prog to prove my point.

SEO Spyglass - As I said it isn't pulling backlinks correctly, and you can't add your own. Pretty fundemental considering this is what the program is about.

Rank Tracker- Failing constantly to do rank checks as per this post google-punishing-us-for-hitting-them-t4383.html. Again, a great program but it now has issues with the most FUNDENMENTAL part it should be able to do.

Web Auditor - I really like this prog and I haven't found any bugs yet and only one issue. When I do a web page analayisis it does the avg of 10 pages. This is great but of course this should be able to compare ONE page of your choosing....like every other program on the internet of this type. Again a fundemental element missing from the program.

Link Assistant - I hate this program. It crashes ALL the time, especially when using the built in browser. it is riddled with bugs. When I send 100 emails, the next time I do a send/receive it pulls these down into my inbox, what is that all about?!?

Why doesn't it show link juice like Spyglass? Another feature missing...If I am looking for potential link partners I would like to know what the potential link juice is I will receive, link assistnat doesnt show it. instead I have copy these links, start a new project in spyglass get the link juice from there.

It deleted my file....well I think I deleted but it was because of LA functions; because it constantly crashes it creates bak files etc. Sometimes after a recovery it leaves the bak file in the folder where xch file was saved. I have had to delete these in the past manually. The other day it crashed and I went into there to delete it but I deleted the temp file instead (as they look the same). I only realised afterwards I could no longer find my xch file. After some investigation I found that LA (and all other SEO PS apps) rename the files to have a tmp extension when saving them....Guess what, that is the file I deleted...which meant I deleted my exh file..WHY THE HELL DOES IT DO THIS? Other programs on the market don't. They either don't rename it or create a NEW temp file instead. I suppose this wouldn't be as much an issue if LA didn't crash all the time. I have now lost 4 months worth back links research

Not really, it takes much more, especially considering that it should be a properly set-up data import (different formats).

Well, you are right, it's not possible to add backlinks, but you can use LinkAssistant for adding and verifying backlinks.

It does show Link Value, just like SEO SpyGlass. What you need to do in order to see it, is select all the partners and update two ranking factors: Domain PR and Total Links. After that right-click on any column's header and add the "Backlink value" column.

As for Rank Tracker — you really need to adjust all the settings that influence rank checking: data centers rotation, human emulation, proxy rotation, the # of simultaneous tasks and the rank checking method. The thing is that although Google is stricter now, the software still works and provides possibilities to stay block-free, and most of our customers are getting large amounts of data from the SEs.

Thanks a lot for your input, we are working on all the features you mentioned — really appreciate your patience.

I got an email from support about my backlinks so just though I'd add this. It appears that if the yahoo api field is ticked in spyglass this causes some kind of conflict (which was my issue). This would make sense as nothing was actually in the fields but the tick was on to use it. I have noticed this a few times when in ALL SP progs and turned it off myself. I haven't ticked them and on more than one occasion I have had to go back in and uncheck it.
But thanks for sorting this out for me :)
thanks about the link value in LA as well.

I knew it wasn't there...I just checked again for that column, it isn't there. Maybe it was removed by accident in the latest update?
