Hello I am the Operations Director for Chrome Battery - we sell every type of battery for electronics and currently have an SEO company doing linking for us. I am new to the whole "SEO" scene and am curious how linking will help our search ratings.

Hi - use your targeted keywords in anchor text rather than just the domain name, this will help... I would advise you search Google for information on backlinks, also the tools here at Link Assistant ie.
