After update search engine data for selected backlinks updated successfully, SPYGlass freezes when I click Finish. Before the recent update I was able to do so without a problem with 1500 backlinks at a time. Now I can't do 500. This is ridiculous!!!!

I've closed every program to give SPYGlass every resource, memory, etc. to finish a job of 500 links. Yet, it still freezes. Nothing has changed other than the recent update. What is going on?

SpyGlass is becoming useless!!!

Ever since the upgrade to 4.8.1 I cannot process more than 500 search engine date for selected backlinks at a time. I've even tried selecting just one backlink factor. I'm using a Mac Pro, 10.6.8 with 32 gig's of ram. How do I downgrade to 4.8.0?

Freezes for me after clicking finish... very disappointing!

Same thing for me freeze when I click Finish, have to open task manager and end process...

The issue is caused by Java-related memory limitation that all SEO PowerSuite applications have. Unfortunately at the moment none of our apps cannot use more than 700 MB of RAM. That is why when updating ranking factors for a lengthy list of backlinks, it may happens that at the final stage of updating your project the software just freezes.

What we recommend you to do to fix the issue is to:

- click 'Rebuild' button;
- choose all the local search engines + SEO SpyGlass Backlink Explorer;
- mark 'Show expert options on next screen' check-box at Step 1;
- uncheck ALL ranking factors at Step 2 (you can update them later);
- follow further wizard's instructions.

Thus you will quickly collect the links for your website.

Next we advise to update the found links in small batches of 300-500 links each: just select the links you would like to update ranking factors for -> right-click on the selection -> update selected ranking factors. This helps to avoid 'Java heap space' issue and collect maximum of data.

P.S. Also, our developers are working on the software improvements, so soon SEO SpyGlass will be capable of handling more resource-consuming tasks.
