The article found here http://tinyurl.com/6majkhe indicates that the problem is a coding issue. Do the developers see or respond to these posts or do we have to mail them with issues???

Java heap space

The issue is caused by Java-related memory limitation that all SEO PowerSuite applications have. Unfortunately at the moment none of our apps cannot use more than 700 MB of RAM. That is why when updating ranking factors for a lengthy list of pages, it may happens that at the final stage of updating your project the software just freezes, and you get 'Java Heap Space' error.

As a temporary solution, we advise to update the found pages in small batches of 500-700 each: just select the links you would like to update ranking factors for -> right-click on the selection -> update selected ranking factors. This helps to avoid 'Java heap space' issue and collect maximum of data.

Our developers are working on the software improvements, so the issue will be fixed in one of the upcoming versions of our software, and Website Auditor will be able to handle more resource consuming tasks.

Hi Linky,

This issue has existed for a few months now...
How are your developers getting on with this 700MB java issue?
Can we expect this to be fixed very soon? Any ETA?

Also what will be the maximum amount of ram java will be able to use once fixed (and does anything else limit the ram usage)?

Thanks for your quick reply.

Cheers - Asiaplay

We are sorry but fixing the issue turned out to be a lot more difficult than we expected, as enhancing the software's performance implies rebuild of our software architecture.

Our developers are looking for the most optimal solution, but at the moment we can't give you any ETA when all the changes will be implemented.

However, we will do our best to fix the issue as soon as possible.

:)

Please accept our apologies for this temporary inconvenience.

Hi Linky,

Ok - thanks for the reply.

Please do keep us all updated on the progress.
At the moment I have some larger sites which I can not use web-auditor on i.e. even collecting the list of pages (without any data) is locking-up before completion.

Please also make sure that the fix does allow Ram usage to be at least 8GB (as this is the base level now for a lot of us).

Thanks again and cheers, Asiaplay
