I have been experiencing an issue anytime I try to get the backlinks for a site that has over 3,000. In almost all instances, I will get a java.lang.out of memory error. Java heap space at some point which causes me to be unable to get the information.

What can I do to correct this issue?

There's a couple of things you can do to reduce memory consumption. First, please make sure you are not having many projects open at once (you can save them and close their tabs below). Second, do not update all ranking factors at once, just gather the backlinks' list and then update ranking factors for selected groups of backlinks.

Another thing - how many search engines are you gathering backlinks in? Please let us know more details.
