I started a new project and did an analysis of the homepage of the site for 3 keywords. When looking at the report it shows correct information for 2 of the keywords, but for the 1st keyword it shows "0%" for keyword count, but it shows it as "Green". Below in the keyword overview section it shows the following for this keyword:

"Keyword Density: the keyword density in title for the search term "xxxx xxxxx" is 0%.
This complies with optimization requirements."

I don't that is accurate. How can a keyword that I want to optimize and not in the title, but still show it as "Green" and complies with optimization requirements.

Is there something broken or wrong with the software. Also when I ran it the first time it gave me a 28% Optimization score, but now when I run it a few times again it is showing between 40%-46%. The first time it was showing correct information for this keyword, but was showing incorrect for one of the 2 other keywords when analyzing the meta description(same issue).

Anyway to fix this problem?

Keyword Density is percentage of occurrence of your keywords to the text in the rest of your web page.
It is important for your main keywords to have the correct keyword density to rank well in Search Engines.

I understand that, but the software is showing a density of 0%, but still saying it complies with optimization requirements (which it clearly does not since that particular keyword is not in the title..thus the 0% KD). Just wondering the info under that says it complies when it reality it does not.

Such a thing can happen if your competitors don't use the key phrase in their titles. If your competitors are poorly optimized, please don't be surprised getting suggestions that differ from standard on-page optimization techniques (reduce the amount of text on the page, move the key phrase away from the beginning of a page element, reduce keyword density to 0 and the like). In some cases it's better to use the competitors' lack of optimization to your advantage while in others it's safer to keep to a lower optimization level (you'll be able to increase it gradually later as you start seeing improvements in the page's rankings).

If you want some more specific advice, please send us the URL of the page you are working on, the keyword and the SE.

If your page stayed the same and the optimization score changed, it means that either the list of competitors became different or that some of your competitors edited content on their pages.
