I am having some issues with WA on one particular website. Whenever I refresh the Structure and Coding factors, I get variation in the reporting of broken links, and (maybe significantly) the HTML response code.

Site hosting appears to be OK, certainly I don't see any crawling issues related to performance, or delays in serving the page to end users. But WA reports broken links, that are not broken and HTTP/500 server error codes on a number of pages. If I refresh again, the number of broken links will change, or the pages affected will change and the HTTP Status codes will change - some of the pages previously reporting 200 will go to 500 and vice versa.

My initial thoughts are that of site performance, but I am not seeing that supported by other tools such as crawling errors in Webmaster Tools.

The site is quite modular, with headers, footers. menu etc all being php include files, but other than that it is quite unremarkable.

Are there any timeuts etc that are changeable, or any performance targets that the pages should deliver, other than the fairly subjective "looks OK to me".

Thanks

Stuart
