I am interested in buying The SEO Powersuite. I downloaded the free version and really like these tools; however, I use wordpress 3.1 and the Link Assistant directory builder creates an entire duplicate of my page to upload--this does not work with wordpress-I need just the clean code to add to the content area of a page. I am a newbie, but I can copy and paste html. I saved the link directory and the category file to my hard drive in hopes that I could find the html code for just the link assistant--but this was too complicated for a few minute job for me.

I also did not know where to put the category file on my server. It has the same problem--contains my entire page of code.

Someone must have solved this problem. What I think I need is only the Link assistant code for the directory and the category and the correct place to place them. I know that I can put the directory code on a page content area and it will work--but where do I put the category code?

Please help newbie!

Hey there MyBizOLS,

I was trying to figure out the same thing and then figured I'd use the KISS method. I really like keeping anything as simple as possible.

I don't remember if you have to have the FTP information in your project before or after what I'm about to describe, but follow the steps and it will work.
Your best bet is just to put your link directory into a .html page in a directory or the root of you want.

SO MUCH EASIER than trying to work with a script to accomplish the same thing to have the link directory end up on your of WP's .php pages.

Besides, you may only want it linked from one of your pages and not a link that shows up in all the menus etc.

If you don't have an HTML version of your WP Theme, and you want it to look like the rest of your site, just build a single page with a table the width of your Theme pages, put the image header at the top, and whatever page headline text you want just below the header image.

On the next line type in any text you want so you have text to select when you get to that step in the The instructions on this page

Step 3: Page Design And Link Location

Fluff it up with whatever you want. FTP this HTML page up to the root for your domain.

When you get to the "Step 3" as I indicated above, select the text you entered for this purpose and click the next obvious button in the dialogue window.

Go through the rest of the steps as necessary.

I just finished my initial try at this. I don't want to put the link to my example here. I'll PM it to you so you can see what I'm talking about.

If you're in the U.S. and ^^ All That ^^ I didn't make clear enough, maybe we can set up a call. Lots easier than type talking through a forum board.

Anyway, I hope this helps.

I was in here looking around in the forum to see if there was some generic category list someone may have posted here somewhere. Doing that by hand will be a time consuming ordeal.

If you know of one somewhere, lemme know.
