Using SEO SpyGlass- How many back links should I find to assess competition? Or do I always need to do unlimited scan to get them all? I read that we can only get 1000 links per search engine but if conduct unlimited scan, SpyGlass can retrieve several 1000 links..


2)We have a new domain. Our old domain has lot of back links that we would like to redirect to leverage the links. Several of the back links do not have optimized anchor text so I will need to use analyze to review. I configured SpyGlass to pull 1000 back links from Google and Yahoo but is that enough or do I need to do the deep unlimited scan and get 30,000 links to really do this right?

It's pretty much up to you. However, we'd suggest you to strive for maximum number of links because this will let you identify the most useful backlink resources for your site.



The best solution would be to edit the backlinks so they point to the new domain. This will transfer more link juice than a redirect from the old domain would allow.
