Hi Guys,

Just started using Link Assistant. Seems like a very well thought out product and I'm very impressed.

Just one thing is really bugging me. When sending emails the lines are truncated at what I'm guessing is 80 characters. This makes the emails look terrible. If someone sent me one of these personalised emails in this horrible format I would delete it and not read it.

It makes the emails look like spam from Nigeria!

How do I change the emails so the lines don't truncate? Does link assistant support sending HTML emails?

Many Thanks,

James

No, unfortunately Link-Assistant does not support HTML e-mails. The way e-mails look right now is a compromise between all possible mail clients, browsers and screen resolutions. We might change it in the future, but for now it looks the way it does — sorry for inconvenience...

That's a real shame. The rest of the product is fantastic. I've trailed a lot of bulk email marketing programs and I found the best to be MaxProg Bulk Emailer. If you guys could emulate the way email marketing works with these guys you'd be onto a real winner.

I have submitted a ticket about this as well.

Lines in the emails are getting cut off and when people copy and paste the HTML code, the format gets screwed up adding <br>'s.. which gets quite annoying.

So, some of my longer titles turn into "title="blah blah <br> title"", which obviously isn't right. It also sticks <br>'s into the actual link description as well.. making it format incorrectly.

A fix to this would be extremely awesome!

@ Link-Assistant guys: Yes, I also know about email formatting- and keeping lines under 67 characters or whatever.

The reality is though- when I personally write an email to someone in outlook I don't go formatting every line to be less than 67 chars. Now that IS natural, and that's how most real emails are. So that is what people are used to receiving, whatever their email client/service.

It's obvious that this should be a feature which is possible to turn off. Adding a switch somewhere in the settings is simple enough.

So please, pretty please - can you make it possible to completely turn off the auto format, as an option. The most annoying thing is it's actually not even consistent, some lines are made short- and others aren't. In test emails to myself they generally come through looking horrendous.

Guys: well done on the software- it's great. And you rock.

I look forward to it getting even more awesome. :D

Warmest Regards,

Dave

Hi,

Thanks for the hard work on improving the software, we have just started using LinkAssistant this week and we loved it until we found out we couldn't send email with the good format.

As someone said before they look like spam emails and so I don't see how anyone would send an email like that.

Is there any progress on fixing it? To be honest it's pointless to send email if they don't look good because no one will reply.

Please let us know if you are going to fix it (and when) I personally don't think I can use this software as it is now.

I'm also wondering if this will be implemented. For example: Most mailinglist software has the option to both have an HTML version and a plain text version.

I think e-mails will look much more professional/trustworthy when you can add something simple as a logo in the e-mail footer.
